Trails West Real Estate Roots...Run Deep.
The origins of Trails West Real Estate date back more than four decades to a chance encounter during Dan Averill's junior year in college, when a real estate broker who was listing his father's property offered Dan a job as a farm and ranch salesman.
"I took that opportunity and actually fell in love with the business," Dan recalled. "And approximately two years later I had my own office."
In 1974, Dan moved his office to Bigfork and it became Trails West. Over the next few decades, Trails West grew into a prominent figure in Flathead Valley real estate. The growth led to Dan's decision in 1998 to expand the company by joining forces with Tom & Katie Brown as partners. After a few years, Dan's son Sean joined as a partner in Whitefish and Ellie Stimpson in Lakeside.
Today, Trails West has seven offices with 39 sales associates and a long list of satisfied homeowners across the Flathead Valley.
"I believe we're the highest producing office in Northwest Montana," Dan said.
Sean shares his father's love of real estate, though he likes to say he doesn't sell real estate but rather he sells Montana, taking his clients skiing, on the river and tours of the state's other natural wonders.
"It's an easy sell once they've made the decision to buy Montana." Sean said.
The owners are proud of the Trails West family and how they have helped make Montana a home for so many people.
